Welcome to My Senior Thesis!

   Hello!

My name is Cameron Lowry. I am a senior at the School for the Talented and Gifted. As a part of my senior year curriculum, I am enrolled in a Senior Thesis class. For about 90 minutes every other day, I devote my time to research any topic of my choosing. In April, I present my work and my project that goes along with it. It seems like April is far away, but given how fast the past 3 years of high school have been, it feels like I could present next week.

As far as topics go, I decided to focus on computer science. More specifically, I want to research Non-Observational Relationship Awareness (NORA). My computer science teacher gave me this anecdotal example to clarify NORA: Imagine you are playing poker at a casino. There is one guy at the table who is winning every round and a lot of money. You know something is up, but you can't prove anything. At first glance, it looks like sheer luck that the dealer has been giving this guy some pretty good cards. Actually, the guy's girlfriend's neighbor's friend is the dealer at the table. The guy and the dealer know each other pretty well, and the dealer has been helping the winner cheat.

NORA is very useful in connecting people that seem completely unrelated to each other. It is used by the government to search for criminals and terrorists. It has improved in recent years. That is all I can say about NORA at the moment. That topic may still be broad, but I will narrow it down as I learn more about it.

Let's see how the year goes with this topic.
